Extension of Lung Windows

  1. Anterior Chest (Mid-clavicular Line)
  2. Lateral Chest (Mid-axillary Line)
  • The eFAST exam is the FAST exam with additional lung windows looking for lung sliding in the anterior chest and looking for pleural fluid above the diaphragm in the lateral chest.
  • The evaluation for pleural fluid is done during the abdominal portion of the FAST.
