- As the speed of sound increases in a low-acoustic impedance structure, the succeeding tissue appears in lighter gray-scale, than the adjacent tissue.
- Tissue echogenicity displays deeper to a simple anechoic cyst, than to the surrounding tissue.
Note: Acoustic enhancement is 1 of 3 markers for fluid-filled structures.
Action Tip: Re-position the transducer to image the “enhanced” anatomy
