Greater Tuberosity Anatomy - Proximal over Humeral Head Cartilage
- Humeral Head
- Articular Hyaline Cartilage
- Supraspinatus Tendon (before insertion)
- Infraspinatus Tendon (before insertion)
- Biceps Tendon (within the interarticular rotator cuff interval)
- Subscapularis Tendon
- This is showing the transverse view of the rotator cuff.
- The presence of articular hyaline cartilage (2) confirms that there is no tendon insertion taking place at the humeral head (1).
- The anterior facet terminates at the biceps tendon (5). The biceps groove does not extend any further superior than the humeral neck-head junction.
