Ultrasound-Guided TAP Blocks (29:15)

Dr. Nishant Shah, Department of Anesthesiology Affiliation Park Ridge Anesthesiology Associates – Division of Midwest Anesthesia Partners will provide an overview of the Transversus Abdominal Plane (TAP) blockade that will describe the relevant and necessary anatomy while teaching one how to perform the procedure under ultrasound guidance. More specific details will be presented in regards to surgical indications, risks/benefits, and how to incorporate this into everyday practice. Webinar Goals and Objectives: 1. Describe the TAP block, the risks and benefits of the procedure, and the necessary anatomy. 2. Describe how to use an ultrasound machine to obtain the necessary views to perform the TAP block. 3. Describe how to appropriately choose the proper regional anesthetic for a given surgical procedure. In this case, the TAP block. 4. Describe how to effectively incorporate the TAP block into one’s practice.
