Subxiphoid View - Patient and Transducer Information

Patient Position:

• Supine

Transducer Position:

• Place the transducer below the xiphoid process.
• Orient the marker toward the patient’s right (see arrow).
• Lay the transducer flat.
• The subxiphiod view may not always be possible if the patient has abdominal pain or a diaphragmatic injury. If you unable to obtain this view, obtain a parasternal long view instead.
