Subxiphoid View - Patient and Transducer Information
Patient Position:
- Supine
Transducer Position:
- Place the transducer below the xiphoid process.
- Orient the marker toward the patient’s right (see arrow).
- Lay the transducer flat.
- The subxiphiod view may not always be possible if the patient has abdominal pain or a diaphragmatic injury. If you unable to obtain this view, obtain a parasternal long view instead.
