Dr. Daniel G. Malone is a Board Certified Internist and Rheumatologist with a special interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound, which he has been utilizing in his practice for 7 years, and he is on the faculty of several ultrasound schools. Dr. Malone now practices in Beaver Dam, WI at Excel Orthopedics, and in addition to general rheumatology services and evaluation and treatment for osteoporosis, he also offers ultrasound diagnostics, precision ultrasound-guided procedures and new forms of regenerative therapy, including platelet-rich plasma.

Dr. Theresa Bowling will present this webinar which is designed to teach the participants how to perform an ultrasound-guided thoracic paravertebral single shot nerve block and catheter placement. The relevant gross and ultrasound anatomy will be discussed and will include ultrasound video tutorials for needle and catheter placement. Indication and contraindications for performing this block will be discussed in detail. Pertinent literature supporting this block for anesthesia and analgesia will be also be presented.

In this webinar, Dr. Gaffney discusses indications and clinical usage for pectoralis I and II blocks, describes the anatomical and sonographic anatomy of the thorax, lateral chest wall, and axilla, illustrates the proper needle and local anesthetic placement for a successful pectoralis I and II block, and discusses clinical pearls for performing ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia.
